Coca-Cola Shanduka Beverages
Shanduka acquired a 70% shareholding in The Coca-Cola Company of South Africa’s bottler named Coca-Cola Shanduka Beverages (CCSB) of South Africa and the Coca-Cola Company retained 30% of the business.
The association with The Coca-Cola Company has created a unique platform for geographical expansion and further investments to create black-owned and operated beverage companies.
The majority shareholding enables Shanduka to directly control and manage the operations of the company and establish a successful Shanduka management track-record.
CCSB - a successful transition to operational control
Shanduka Beverages, has high aims to grow and develop a geographically diverse, black-owned, well-operated and managed beverages company on the African continent.
So far Shanduka Beverages has invested in Coca-Cola Shanduka Beverages (CCSB) a joint venture company between Shanduka and The Coca-Cola Company with Shanduka having a majority stake and management responsibility for the joint venture.
CCSB is one of the four Coca-Cola Franchised Bottlers in South Africa. It’s franchise territory extends to about 15% of Gauteng, 65% of Mpumalanga and 3% of Limpopo. It has 2 main plants, one in Nigel and one in Witbank– each with 3 production plants and it has 6 sales centre’s in Nigel, Witbank, Steelpoort, Groblersdal, Standerton and Ermelo.
It services more than 10,000 retail customers across 8 trade channels and has one of the highest outlets and coldrink presentations in SA. It sells more than 34 TCCC brands.
