On 28 February 2008, at our first annual awards dinner, we recognised those schools who have achieved excellence, and we honoured two of our special donors: Eric and Sheila Samson and Graham and Rhona Beck who will receive their Adopt A School White Blazers for their vision, philanthropy and outstanding support of education in South Africa. We also honoured two outstanding Corporates on the day for their continued contribution in making the Adopt A School vision a reality.

The event was in the form of a dinner where guests were entertained by well known artist and the evening was filled with special moments.

Each table hosted two learners, one teacher and one parent from schools assisted by Adopt A School around the country leaving eight places for the sponsor and guests.

This memorable and special occasion was made possible through the kind contribution of the Sandton Sun and other suppliers so that all the monies raised through this initiative could be ploughed back into the Adopt A School Foundation.
